dipolog cathedral

dipolog cathedral

The Dipolog Cathedral was built in April 15, 1894 under the leadership of Fr. Eusebio Barredos. Aside from the wooden ceiling and the wooden relief of the four evangelists, another unique feature of this church is the main retablo which is said to be designed by Jose Rizal himself.

The church has undergone several physical changes through the years. The most recent of this were the renovation of the interiors in 2007, the restoration of the original walls and the application of gold leaf on the retablos in 2008 and the renovation of the facade in 2009.
